If I Could Go Anywhere In The World I Would Go To...

I f I could go on Holiday anywhere in the world I would probably go to Paris, France because I have always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower and because I have always loved that country.

What I find interesting about France is the culture I have always found that the French are very unique and interesting. I specifically want to go to Paris because I know there are lots of amazing landmarks there!!!!

If you could go on a holiday where would you go?

Inspiring Song

I have been tagged to write a post about inspiring music. After I have written my post I will then tag 5 people who will write a post about their inspiring song and so on. (More Details)
I have chosen Hot Air Balloon by Owl City as my inspiring song.

I picked this song because it reminds me that no one is perfect and everyone is a little bit crazy sometimes! It also reminds me that you can do pretty much anything if you put your mind to. The song is really original and creative which makes me enjoy listening to it!

It's also my favourite song :-)

I have picked: Bubbles, jjdragonrider, Miss South Africa ,Pinky and Drumbledoor

This is what's happening....

This is my image story telling about Climate Change.
I made this story for BAD.

Cheeky penguins (BCWK5)

I like this image because it shows two cute king penguins, one who looks like he knows he is being photographed and is confidently posing for the camera and another cheeky penguin who is imitating his mate beside him.

I picked this image because I love penguins and these two show some real personality!

Cricket (BC WK5)

One of my main interests is Cricket.
I like playing backyard and competitive cricket, But I also enjoy playing beach cricket.
I can also properly score cricket which I do every Saturday morning for my brothers team.
My strongest point in the game is probably batting or fielding.

These two links include the rules of competitive school cricket and the history of cricket.

-Cricketers should be people who do not boast; nor quit; nor make excuses when they fail. They should be cheerful losers, and quiet winners. They should play fairly and as well as they can. They should enjoy the pleasure of risk. They should give their opponents the benefit of the doubt and value the game itself more highly than the result.

Blogging Challenge WK6 - Climate Change

Climate change affects me because it means that the younger people in generations to come won't have the opportunity to see half the animals we get to see today. They probably won't get to see the polar ice caps or research Antarctica either because for our on selfish, foolish reasons we won't stop to look at the damage we are doing by leaving the light on or not turning of the TV.

It upsets me because a lot of animals are going to die or go extinct because of climate change. The human species may even go extinct because we just cannot handle the outrageous changes climate change will make to our planet.

We could stop climate change or at least slow it down by trying to make these changes to our lifestyle. (linked in purple) Please Try!

Blogging Challenge WK 3 - The Best Way to Reply to a Comment

I think that if someone leaves a comment on your blog it is better to reply in their blog comments especially if they have moderated comments. But if they do not have a blog it's good to reply through e-mail. I think replying in your own blog comments would be the last way I would respond unless they are a regular checker of your blog.

I think that responding through e-mail would be the best way to carry on a conversation because responding through e-mail almost guarantees they will receive your reply!

Harry Potter and the half Blood Prince Movie Review

On Saturday night I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Overall I thought it was a disappointing movie compared to all the the other HP movies but I found certain parts very entertaining.

The end was very sad but I think it summed up the whole plot of the previous movies.

Over all I would rate it a 5/10 for its exciting ending.

If you have seen HP 6 please leave your opinions in the comments!

If you have any opinions on D.A.R.E please share them in the comments!

Opinions on if we should blog

At the moment there is a debate going on at the Ministry of Education about whether to blog or not to blog.
I think blogging is a good idea because it gives us a chance to showcase our work in a different environment and because we get to share our work with other people.

If you have any opinions on why we should blog or not blog please leave them here.

Fun Game

This afternoon my siblings and i were out in the backyard and we started playing this game it is really fun but you have to have more than 3 people.
First of all you need to spread out, then you each spin around 20 times and when you have done that you try to chase each other. It sounds silly but it is really fun!!!

The pros of blogging

Here are some reasons why blogging is good for learning:
Blogging is a really good learning tool for mature learners because it improves punctuation because all our work on our blog has to be perfect so we learn our punctuation and spelling. Blogging also improves our story/report writing skills because we blog with a story and we share that story on the Internet so we improve because we are writing a story every time we blog.
So if you don't already have a blog it is a good idea because it helps learning skills and it is a fun hobby!

Traits of a quality learner.

Do you know what a successful learner does to be successful? Successful learners listen to all instructions and settle into tasks quickly and quietly. They produce high quality work to get top marks. Learners never ever stop until it is the highest standard and they are proud of what they have done and achieved! To be successful you must use the 16 habits of mind: Manage self, Using senses to learn, Persisting, Participating and contributing ETC.

WALT: To be a successful learner all throughout life.

HWIK: Your work will always be perfect in your eyes and you will learn and achieve to your full potential
Here is a picture that for me shows sucesful learning because they are all focused on what they are learning. (Sorry the picture wont upload please use the hyperlink) Quality Learning
Here are a couple of links to successful learning sites: Link 1, Link 2

(WALT = We are learning to. HWIK = How will i know)

Succesful Learning

What is a successful learner is it someone who is always listening? or is it someone who's work is always on time and done to the highest standard?
In class we did a unit on successful learning. We had to create a learners profile and integrate ICT. I made a certificate for my learners profile to outline the traits of a successful learner. Here it is!

True or False

Hey!

Mr w00dy made and interesting statement in class today that disruptive boys work better when on the computer independently is this true or false?
I think it is true because i think boys have a fascination with ICT and using it to do their work but i don't know everybody thinks differently.

Leave your opinions on boys and ICT in the comments!

Science Roadshow!

Hi!

Today we went to the fontera science roadshow!
We watched a presentation on planet earth which was informative and it taught us about matter and how matter cycles. After that we got to play with the exhibits there was a black hole exhibit where you got to watch how a black hole works by experimenting with a marble and a funnel and there was an experiment where you had to find the right key for the lock using the clues and the way things fit together. After we played with the exhibits we watched another show about sound waves and the human hearing range!

My favourite part was experimenting with the mirrors and watching the different shapes form in the mirror.
Please leave your comments on your favourite part and your opinions on the science roadshow!

Andy Warhol

In class we have to research one of our favourite artists and draw a self portrait using their style.
Andy Warhol is one of my favourite artists because he has some interesting paintings that are creative and colorful!!
Andy Warhol was the founder of Pop Art Movement and he was one of the most famous artists of the 1960's he was a filmmaker a print maker and a painter!!He turned stars into art and he always wanted to be famous ever since being a little boy, He would say: "I wanted to be art businessman or a business artist. Being good at business is the most fascinating kind of art."

I love Andy Warhol's art because it is creative, interesting and i enjoy watching his different art styles. I like the way he has taken modern items like tomato soup and turned it a beautiful piece of art!!!!

This is his most famous piece of art The Can Of Soup

This website has some really cool information on Andy Warhol check it out!!

Battery Farming

Hi!

How sad is this there are about 4 hens stuffed into 1 cage about the size of an A4 piece of paper! All so we can have eggs.
How would you feel if you were put in that position pecking other hens and being pecked by other chickens, standing on uncomfortable wire 24/7 and never even making contacts with your eggs. Its animal cruelty and it is not cool!!! So maybe we should start thinking about buying free-range eggs sometimes they may be a few cents more but think about this situation!!!! Its animal cruelty up against a few cents out of your normal budget every so often, I hope you can find the kindness in your heart to save the poor hens and change your eggs at least just once!!!

NEWS

Hello
I looked on the news and saw this and i thought it was something to think about:

Man falls on face after first sky dive>

A swedish tourist landed and fell on his face after his first sky dive. It was his first solo sky dive and ended very badly. Officials say his chute opened but from there it was an uncotrolled fall. St. John's ambulance head said the 26 year old Swedish man was lucky to be alive.

I thought that was quite interesting.

So if you were that man think about it would you sky dive again?
